I wrote an article covering a hearing about diversity in Boston higher education institutions during my time as a staff reporter at BU's independent student newspaper, The Daily Free Press. To report the story, I attended the hearing at Boston City Hall and interviewed City Councilor Tito Jackson on-site once the hearing was over. Ironically, representatives from BU were invited to attend but declined, which made for an intriguing story. I unfortunately did not get a chance to interview Councilor Ayanna Pressley, who would go on to become a prominent U.S. congresswoman.
